Intoxicados was founded by Christian "Pity" Alvarez, former lead singer and guitarist of the popular band Viejas Locas along with Abel Meyer (drums), Felipe Barrozo (guitar) and Jorge Vitamina Rossi (bass). Their music music is Rock en Espanol, and their lyrics speak of social issues and daily life.
On Intoxicados most recent release "Otro Dia En El Planeta Tierra" they are joined by guest musicians on piano and organ, harmonica, saxophone and percussion. In the gritty song Senor Kioskero, the protagonist enters a convenience store, says hello to the employee and tells him to put his hands up and give over the money. “I'm sorry” he explains, “but my family doesn't have any work, and I don't want to work, so put the money in the bag and give me the video tape that's filming this robbery.” He sums up by stating, “if I'm very lucky and one day I get some money I'm going to come back and return it to you.”
